Meridian Care

A twenty eight year old Kent care provider with a website that did not reflect it. We rebuilt the site, then spent three years making it the first result families see when they search for care in Canterbury.

The brief

Established 1997.
Invisible in 2023.

Meridian Care has been delivering domiciliary care in east Kent since 1997, holds a CQC rating of Good and operates from two offices, in Canterbury and in Dover. By any measure that is a serious provider.

None of it was reaching the people searching. Families looking for care at home in Canterbury were finding national directories and better optimised competitors, and a site that did not communicate twenty eight years of standing was doing nothing to change their minds when they arrived.

Two problems, in order: a website that could convert, and then the visibility to fill it.

WHAT WE HAD TO SOLVE
  • A brand with genuine local heritage that read as generic online
  • Two distinct catchment areas competing for the same pages
  • No clear route from worried family member to booked assessment
  • Care recruitment competing with client enquiry for attention
  • Little organic visibility for the searches that actually convert
What we did

Build it to convert.
Then build it to rank.

01
Rebuilt around the enquiry

Free Care Assessment as the primary action and Request A Callback as the secondary, both present in the header on every page. Phone numbers for both branches sit above the navigation, because a family in crisis calls rather than fills in a form.

PHASE 1
02
Gave the heritage somewhere to live

CQC rated Good, over twenty eight years experience and current availability shown directly beneath the hero. These are the three things a family checks before they enquire, so we stopped making them hunt.

PHASE 1
03
Split the site by area

An Areas We Cover structure with its own page per location, so Canterbury searches land on Canterbury content and Dover searches land on Dover content. This is what makes local SEO possible rather than theoretical.

PHASE 1
04
Three years of local SEO

Technical foundations, service pages built around real search demand for home care, dementia care and respite, location pages for the surrounding towns, and consistent local citations. Slow, unglamorous and cumulative.

PHASE 2, ONGOING
05
Kept recruitment separate

Care providers need carers as badly as they need clients, and mixing the two confuses both. Careers sits in the main navigation with its own path, so neither audience has to wade through the other's content.

PHASE 2
The outcome

Found first, then
chosen.

Three years of consistent work has moved Meridian Care onto page one for care related searches across their catchment, and the enquiries now arrive directly through the site rather than through a directory taking a cut of the introduction.

  • Page one rankings for home care terms across Canterbury
  • Separate visibility built for the Dover catchment
  • Enquiries arriving direct rather than via paid directories
  • Twenty eight years of standing finally visible above the fold
  • Recruitment path separated from client enquiry
  • [NEEDS FIGURE] organic enquiries per month
